Edison To Host Halloween House Decoration Contest

EDISON, NJ – Halloween might look different this year due to the pandemic. While many might not want to got out trick-or-treating, Edison has found a way to make Halloween fun for residents.

Mayor Thomas Lankey, the Edison Council, and the Edison Recreation Department will be hosting the 12th Annual “Halloween House Decoration Contest.”

Here’s how you can enter:

  • Take a photo of your decorated house.
  • Email your photo to [email protected] no later than Oct. 20, 4:30 p.m.
  • All photo entries must include the following information: full name, phone number, and the Edison address of the decorated house (please provide the nearest cross street).

Judging will be held on Oct. 27 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Rain date scheduled for Oct. 29 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

Please make sure your lights and props are turned on during these hours.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three houses. Winners will be contacted via telephone during the first week of November.

Apart from the house decoration contest, the town is also planning a Halloween costume parade on Oct. 24. But for the event to take place successfully, a lot will depend on how district schools fare at the time.
